The South West Infrastructure Partnership (SWIP) in collaboration with ICE South West is launching a new report, created by WSP, exploring some of the key infrastructure themes and opportunities for South West England as the region transitions to net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
The South West Vision 2050 collates insights from practitioners who are contributing to the development of the region’s infrastructure. The document is intended to draw on the lived experiences of infrastructure professionals to better anticipate and plan what we’ll need to do in the future. Outcomes are informed by case studies and explore the merits of regional infrastructure projects recently constructed or commissioned, reflecting on what works now and how these projects have incorporated different ideas and initiatives to prepare for 2050 and beyond.
To accompany the South West Vision 2050, a podcast series, Beyond Brunel, is being released, bringing together key infrastructure figures in conversation about the key themes and topics of the report.
Join SWIP for the launch of the new report and podcast onboard Brunel’s famous ship, the SS Great Britain in Bristol, from 12 to 2 pm on Thursday 2 February 2023.
The event will include an overview of the South West Vision 2050, a case study presentation and a trailer of the first podcast episode.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in a workshop discussion, exploring the impact a UK recession could have on the net zero transition in the South West.
Places are limited, so early booking is recommended.
